Your guide to Ravello
Perched 1,200 feet above the Amalfi Coast, Ravello is one of Italy’s most romantic historic towns. Its mountaintop views are unmatched—but its cliffside geography requires a little planning.
Important booking note
Book your stay early
July 26–27 is Ravello’s Festival of San Pantaleone, with local bands, concerts, and a fireworks show. Rooms are likely to fill up for our wedding night.
Our primary hotel
Hotel Graal
We highly encourage everyone to stay with us at Hotel Graal. This is where Michelle and Kyle will be staying, and it is also the location of our Saturday kickoff pool party.
When booking, please add “Michelle and Kyle’s Wedding” to the additional requests field. This lets the hotel staff know you are celebrating with our group and ensures you are given one of the preferential rooms.
Each room includes complimentary breakfast, a beautiful sea view, an on-site restaurant, and access to the cliffside pool. The hotel has only 42 rooms, so please reserve as early as possible.

Check the walk
Before booking an independent hotel or villa, use Google Maps walking directions to check the elevation difference and walking route between the property and Villa Eva.
For context, Hotel Graal is roughly a 100-foot gradual elevation gain from Villa Eva, making it a very manageable walk.
Getting around Ravello
The terrain & footwear
Mind the elevation
The main paths are mostly flat once you are in the center, but Ravello sits atop a mountain. Independent properties tucked off the main paths may require steep hills or several flights of stairs.
Bring walking shoes
Everyone will walk to the venue, so comfortable shoes are strongly encouraged for the cobblestones. Feel free to carry your colorful formal shoes and change when you arrive at Villa Eva.

Because Ravello is at the top of a mountain, reaching it takes a little planning. Here are our recommended routes.
Best fares
The Rome route
Rome (FCO) will likely offer the lowest fares and most flight options. Take a high-speed train to Naples—a comfortable ride of just over an hour—then schedule a private car or taxi directly to Ravello.
Most direct
The Naples route
Fly into Naples International Airport (NAP), then book a private taxi or car service straight to your Ravello hotel. The scenic drive takes about an hour and a half.
Exploring the coast
Cars, mopeds & buses
Renting a car
The Amalfi Coast is best left to advanced, highly confident drivers. Its roads are famously narrow and winding, and are shared with buses and assertive local traffic.
Our favorite: mopeds
Experienced riders can take a taxi to Ravello, then have a local rental company deliver a moped to the hotel. Scooting these cliffs is how Kyle and Michelle first fell in love with the coast.
The local bus
SITA Sud buses reach Amalfi in about 25–30 minutes and generally run every 30–60 minutes. Tickets cost about €1.50 and must be purchased beforehand at a local tabaccheria or café. From Amalfi, connect to ferries or buses for Positano, Capri, and Sorrento.
